  1. The Question-Answer Book for Part B1 is inserted into this Data File.

  2. For Part B, attempt EITHER those tasks in Part B1 (Tasks 5 – 7) OR those in Part B2 (Tasks 8 – 10).

  3. You are advised to use a pen for Part B.

  4. The Data Files will NOT be collected at the end of the examination. Do NOT write your answers in the Data Files.

Situation

You are Nico Lin. You are the Secretary for the Inter-School Visual Media Society. You assist Mr Ringo Chow, your school’s Audio-Visual teacher and the Vice Chair of the Inter-School Visual Media Society. The society is currently organising its annual Visual Media Festival, which will take place in June. Mr Ringo Chow has asked you to do some tasks.

你是 Nico Lin，校際視像媒體學會的秘書。你協助學校視聽科老師、學會副主席 Ringo Chow 先生。學會正籌辦六月舉行的年度視像媒體節。Chow 先生請你完成一些工作。

You will listen to a recording of a video conference discussion between Ms Mira Ray, the Chair of the Inter-School Visual Media Society, and Ringo Chow. Take notes under the appropriate headings.

你將聆聽校際視像媒體學會主席 Mira Ray 女士與 Ringo Chow 的視像會議錄音，並在適當標題下做筆記。

Before the recording is played, you will have five minutes to study the Question-Answer Book and the Data File to familiarise yourself with the situation and the tasks.

Complete the tasks by following the instructions in the Question-Answer Book and on the recording. You will find all the information you need in the Question-Answer Book, the Data File and on the recording. As you listen you can make notes on Page 3 of the Data File.

Minutes of Meeting

Youth by Youth Short Video Competition Poster

Ms Ray told the meeting that the Tyrell Coffee House can no longer be the sponsor as they have declared bankruptcy. Fortunately, Yutani Video Games has offered to become the new sponsor for the Youth by Youth Short Video Competition. This should be changed on the poster.

Ray 女士表示，Tyrell Coffee House 已破產，不能再贊助。幸好 Yutani Video Games 願意接任「青年短片大賽」的贊助商，海報應作相應修改。

Ms Kapoor said she was unhappy with the image on the poster. She felt it should be replaced because the Saint Elgin’s School Video Club uses the same image. She suggested using an image of a video camera instead. The committee agreed.

Kapoor 女士認為海報圖片不妥，因 Saint Elgin’s School Video Club 使用相同圖片；她建議改用攝錄機圖片，委員會同意。

Nico to give Ms Woo feedback explaining changes to be made on poster.

Nico 須向 Woo 女士解釋海報要作的修改。

Prize Giving Ceremony for the Youth by Youth Short Video Competition

Mr Chow told the committee that the voting from all participating schools for the prize giving ceremony would end on 5 April. From the vote results, Nico should select the most popular choices for the prize giving ceremony host and the activity for the ceremony.

Chow 先生表示，各參賽學校就頒獎典禮的投票將於 4 月 5 日結束。Nico 須根據票數選出最受歡迎的主持人和活動。

Ms Ray noted that due to budget restrictions, there will be one judge only. Nico should select the cheapest judge. Nico should refer to the tabled Fact File.

Ray 女士指出，基於預算，只能聘請一位評判。Nico 應參考提交的資料檔，選出收費最低的評判。

Mr Chow confirmed all attendees of the ceremony will be given free gift packs. Nico to include this information in the announcement for the event.

Chow 先生確認典禮所有出席者都會獲贈禮包。Nico 應在活動公告中加入此資訊。

Next meeting fixed for Tues. 9 April. Venue to be confirmed.

下次會議定於 4 月 9 日星期二；地點待定。

Posters

  • The name of your organization or society must be really big so people know who you are. After all you want to promote yourself!

  • The title of your video competition should always be underlined.

  • Make sure the website of your organization or society is on your poster. How will they find out all the details if you don’t?

    海報須列出組織或學會的網站，方便讀者查閱詳情。

  • Include any special requirements you have for your films or videos (e.g. how long it should be).

    列出影片的特別要求，例如片長。

  • Have you included what your first prize will be (if you have one)? State that clearly somewhere on the poster.

Rules for Youth by Youth Short Video Competition

The filmmaker should:

  • Attend school in Hong Kong

    在香港就讀

  • Be under 18

    未滿 18 歲

Length of videos:

  • Between 2 and 5 minutes

    片長為 2 至 5 分鐘

Content:

  • About young people, i.e. under 18 (NOT adults)

    內容關於 18 歲以下的年輕人，而非成年人

  • Can be in Cantonese, English or Putonghua

    可使用廣東話、英文或普通話

  • No swearing or foul language or other offensive content

    不得有粗言穢語或其他冒犯性內容

  • Music must be copyright free (i.e. Don’t use a song or music by a famous artist or pop band)

    音樂須無版權限制；不可使用著名歌手或流行樂隊的歌曲
